Life insurance mathematics

Introduction to life insurance mathematics

This online course is an introduction to life insurance mathematics, the theory used by actuaries for pricing and reserving in a life insurance and pension fund context. The course is useful for students preparing for the professional actuarial examinations of the Society of Actuaries (SOA) or Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA).

The course is based on the textbook by Dickson, Hardy & Waters (2020). This book covers the entire SOA MLC syllabus. In this online course, we present major parts of the chapters 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 of the book. We also consider some extra study material.
